Our friend Viktor Suglob had sent me this camera with request if anyone can identify it as something..

At first glance I see a resemblances of LK-M and Smena-35 and Smena-19, seems to me this is some kind of in-between model..

Any information or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Vlad

Sorry, still trying to get a clarification on Luiz's previous post here... Luiz do you think that this camera may be Smena-18? Or does anyone else for this matter?

Bill, your skills are impressive! . But seriously the more I look at it, the more I see LK-M but with different lens, the top and body itself are virtually identical... may have been some kind of attempt at simplifying the camera to make it cheap to produce, thus the Smena-19 lens and no "automat" electronics - from what I see it's lacking any kind of light sensors like the LK series, but I may be mistaken...

I can identify the camera as one I would like to buy!

Please forgive me Luiz, I'm trying to interpret what you are saying here.. you are saying that this unknown camera is Smena-18?

Thanks,
Vlad.

One of the very interesting studies around the LK-M (the real Russian Cosina)According Abramov says in his site. (I will follow address)This camera probably does not work once it was proved to be incompatiple the Smena 19 shutter mechanics with original LOMO Kompakt mechnics
This was one of the forerunner prototypes of the Undefined Smena 18.

The shutter button is from LK-M so it definitely came AFTER LC-A, I would probably place this camera in early 1990s...
