Could someone explain a difference for me between FK, FKD and FKP. Any particular features that distinguish them from one another?

Thanks,
Vlad.

jlp
early version are fk cameras ( 13x18, 18x24 )
later version are fkd cameras ( 13x18, 18x24 )
fkp are 30x40

did you forget fkr?

www.photohistory.ru/1207248174899423.html have an other solution!

Thanks Mike! Abramov mentions FKP as 18x24 but stationary. I do understand what that means... I need to find my princelle and see what he has to say.. there seems to be no clear differentiation between these or maybe it just seems that way to me.. the whole production of these wooden cameras seems very disorganized to me..

Kind day, Vlad!
" The Camera ÔÊ 13õ18 was let out in 1930 by workshops " ÊÓÁÓ× " and "Ëåíèíãðàäñêèé ôîòîòåõíèêóì".
In 1931 - "ÃÎÌÇ".
ÔÊ 18õ24 was let out "ÃÎÌÇ" since 1950. Some experts count, that with 1931, together with ÔÊ 13õ18.
During Wold War II, ÔÊ 13õ18 was let out in evacuation in Éîøêàð-Îëà.
In 1969 manufacture have transferred to the "Õàðüêîâñêàÿ ôîòîôàáðèêà", which since 1973 began to refer to as a factory "Oðãòåõíèêà".
Since 1975 the cameras were marked in Õàðüêîâ as ÔÊÄ 13õ18 and ÔÊÄ 18õ24. ÔÊÄ 18õ24 with the stationary device, which you saw on a "Molotok", refers to as ÔÊÏ 18õ24.
ÔÊÏ 18õ24 = ÔÊÄ 18õ24 + stationary device
Since 1987 these cameras to make have stopped. "
Þ.Ðûøêîâ " A Brief history of the Soviet camera ".
All the best, dmzi

Dmzi,

Thanks very much for your explanation now it makes more sense to me because I thought FK series were built in parallel on some factories and the production was scattered, but based on this timeline I see that it was just moved from one place to another, although I can report contradicting information - I just bought a Kharkov Fotofabrika FKD from 1964, so it was earlier than 1969 when it was made there....

Mike,
Switch your character encoding to Cyrillic Windows-1251 and the characters come through.
Regarding the FKP camera Wow!! is that the 30x40 camera you're talking about? I would love to see images of that unit!

Thanks both!

Vlad!
It is very interesting. And is it possible to see a photo of year and name of the camera? Too many authors specify 1969.
Thank s, dmzi

Dmzi,

Here are images, unfortunately the tag is not very clear photo but I can post a better one once I receive it. The seller is a good friend of mine and he said it's 1964

Thanks Mike!! What a monster! I just coincidentally also received my 18x24 FKD (Fotofabrika Kharkov), just wanted to confirm, it is in fact 1964! So I guess we need to rework the timeline here presented by Dmzi.

Vlad

all timeline ( jlp, abramov, dmzi ) are not correct, but they are a beginning for right timeline.

Yes they certainly provide the baseline. So a logical conclusion may be that both Leningrad and Kharkov produced these cameras in parallel between 1964 and 1969 until finally it was completely transferred to Kharkov.

Abramov page has fk or fkd cameras and an unknown camera. what is that for a camera and why is this camera on this page? I think it is not Russian.

Mike, isn't it your camera? Or am I mistaken? I think someone in our group just recently bought this camera on eBay... I think Bill and I even talked about it at some point... rings some kind of bell but I can't be sure..
