Fed 2 with A prefix

Fed 2 can be found with a serial number prefixed with A, between A003xxx and A09xxxx as it seems. For the moment! Probably because of the range used for the new Fed 3s beginning by 1000001: Fed could not use the same range to number the Fed 2s and the 3s...

They all belong to the 2 type d series after JLP: they all have the new speed scale beginning by 1/30th of a second. The first A (n° A003770 for example) have a low level shoe, certainly some old covers previously used. So it's too a transitional model between "c" and "d" types.

All these A types are black.

The lens is the Industar 26m, type F400 or the F410.
