KGB Zenit C Camera Disguise

This KGB unit looks like a normal Zenit C in it's leather case, but is a surveillance disguise for an F-21 Ajax miniature camera. This disguise was made for the KGB at the "special workshop" by KMZ (top secret).

The camera is activated by the agent, while the "Zenit C" is hanging from his neck, by a button on the bottom of the case, which, when pushed, opens a small window in side of the leather case, behing the chrome ring that holds the strap. At the same time the shutter is relaesed, exposure made with F-21, the camera automatically winds the film and re-cocks the shutter, ready for the next one. When the button on the bottom is released, the little window comes down.

With the camera hidden in the leather case, it is completely silent. The camera can be taken out of the device for loading or other uses. This example probably dates from 1958 and probably still has its original F-21 with it.
