Zenit 7 (early version)
1968-1969

The Zenit 7 (early version) is distinguished by the beautiful, finely machined, modern design, metal plate with engraved horizontal lines and a "7" left unengraved, on the front of the reflex housing. Later versions had a different front name plate.

Less than 200 of this first version of the Zenit 7 were made, with the variations being, a black reflex housing, a black reflex housing, and with and without self-timer. The one pictured has the black reflex housing and no self-timer, being a late version of a pre-series version or possibly an early version of a production model.

Body Serial numbers:

No. 6900023 - David Tomlinson
No. 6900661 - Collection Bill Parkinson

According to the KMZ-website 1969 production was 1027 cameras, how ever my camera (2nd version/last picture) has serial 6901855 which is far too big number. Juhani
